Middle School Page - Grades 6 – 8
Our philosophy on middle school education is centered around key concepts such as autonomy, self-efficacy, empathy, self-regulation, equality, safety, understanding, and family values. Many have said that the years of middle childhood are the toughest years for students in both school and family. Some children are sensitized by criticism and scapegoating, while others find difficulty within these social/educational demands.
Some say it is impossible to make the situation more tenable due to students’ age and maturity. We agree with some of the assessments pointing to the futility of changing the situation. We are doing our part in this area of educational inquiry to develop a learning environment where children can reach their full potential by allowing them to be creative, feel safe, and be dedicated to their passions and interests.
