Speech and Language Grades K-12
Our mission is to provide an environment where students can feel excited and empowered through learning. Building knowledge through language development is our expertise. Classroom discussion and our focus on each student's educational development enables us to build critical thinking, problem solving, and studentship in a manner that is engaging to the learner.
Customizable teaching and learning enables our staff to identify strengths and areas in need of continued development for each student. As our students navigate through their educational experience, we help them to discover value in what they learn and how it is related to the world at large. Goal setting, self management, and progress monitoring are examples of how we approach student preparation for their future as citizens to their community. It has been our life's work to engage students in their own career planning, and provide challenges that build their competence.
Our speech and language practices incorporate approaches that are supported by the most recent research discoveries, and are constructed toward achieving a heightened linguistic awareness across subject areas encountered in academia.
Development in verbal communication, writing expression, listening and reading comprehension are constant areas of focus that are supported both in the classroom and in smaller group settings. We adopt an applied approach to student language development that is incorporated in their construction of personal essays, resumes, and college preparatory tasks. In this sense, our speech and language methodologies serve to promote student self reflection and learning.
